Appointment deposits can now be collected online or in person! Deposits allow you to collect a portion of your service price at the time of booking - this is proven to decrease late cancellation and no-show appointments!
Note: At this time, service deposit requirements must be set to at least $0.50 LESS than the service price. This allows the order to remain open so that you can include gratuity or add-on services and products on the day of the appointment.
Setting Up Deposits
Deposit requirements are set up by service and are customizable. Tap More > Services > select a service. Toggle on the ‘Require Deposit’ setting and set the deposit amount.
Collecting Deposits
When a client books a service online that requires a deposit, they will be required to pay the deposit to reserve their appointment. Clients will see a warning when booking, letting them know that the deposit is non-refundable.
You will also have the ability to collect a deposit when booking an appointment internally through your app! Payment for the deposit can be collected from the client directly, or through a payment link, which is an easy and convenient way to capture deposits if the client isn't present. To learn more about our payment links feature, click here.
Note: As the owner of your business, you will always have the ability to skip or change the deposit amount required on an appointment.
Receiving Your Deposit Payment
Deposit payments are collected from clients at the time of booking. These payments will be transferred to your bank account on our Same-Business-Day transfer schedule. To learn more, click here: Your Payment Transfer Schedule.
Canceled and No-Show Appointments
If a client cancels or no-shows for an appointment, you will have the option to keep or refund the deposit. If you have set up a cancellation fee on your account, you will have the option to collect the cancellation fee in addition to the deposit. The amount of the cancellation fee and the amount of the deposit cannot exceed the total price of the services booked by the client.
Deposits and Appointments Requiring Manual Approval
If you require appointments to be manually approved after booking, we will hold funds on the client's card. If you approve the client’s appointment, the deposit will be collected and subsequently deposited into your bank account according to your payment transfer schedule. If you deny the appointment, the funds on the client’s card will be released immediately. If you do not approve the appointment within 48 hours of booking, the appointment will be denied, and funds on the client’s card will be released immediately.
