This preference is totally customizable! Some professionals use this option to help protect themselves from no-shows and cancellations. We could require a big deposit, but many of our experienced beauty professionals have noticed that doing so reduces bookings. Clients don't want that money tied up, and we don't want you to lose out on growing your business!
So instead, we've created the perfect compromise: You can require clients to secure their appointment with a valid credit card, which can be used to charge a no-show or cancellation fee without putting a long hold on their payment in advance. This works out well for both clients and stylists! One thing to keep in mind is that without the card on file you will not be able to charge the cancellation or no-show fee, so be sure to consider this when changing this option! To set this preference, open the app and go to "Settings" > "Business Info" > "Booking & Payment" > "Require Card."
Here, you can keep this set to "Always," change it to "Never," or just require it for new clients! This third option is great for stylists with a strong repeat clientele who are also bringing on new clients.
