Our online booking "Card Requirements" preference is totally customizable! Some professionals use this option to help protect themselves from no-shows and late cancellations. Rather than require a deposit, many of our experienced beauty and wellness professionals choose to require a card to be added on file at the time of booking a new appointment. Many clients don't want their money tied up, and we don't want you to lose out on growing your business!
We've created the perfect compromise: You can require clients to secure their appointment with a valid credit card, which can be used to charge a no-show or cancellation fee without taking payment in advance. This works out well for both clients and professionals! Keep in mind that without the card on file, you will not be able to charge the cancellation or no-show fee, so be sure to consider this when changing this option! Open the app and go to Settings > Booking Controls & Notifications > Online Booking Settings > Require a Card to set this preference.
Here, you can set this to Require for all clients, change it to Never require, or just Require for new clients! This third option is great for professionals with a strong repeat clientele who are also bringing on new clients. When a client pays a service deposit through your online booking site, the card used to pay for the deposit will be saved to their client profile. You can then use their card on file for a quick and contactless payment option at checkout or to charge a cancellation fee if necessary.
