Split payments are a convenient way to handle transactions when multiple payment methods are involved. In this article, we'll guide you through the steps to process a split payment using the GlossGenius app.
Processing a Split Payment
1. From the New Charge screen, tap Split payment
Note: The split payment option will only be available if at least one service is added as a line item. The split payment option won't be available for product-only checkouts. Learn more here.
2. Ask the client to select a gratuity option. The client can choose from three customizable percentages, a Custom option where they can enter in a dollar amount, or select None if they are not providing a tip
Note: When processing a split payment, you will be prompted to select a gratuity option upfront, as the amount will be split across the different payment methods. If no gratuity is selected, you will not be able to add it later on in the transaction.
3. Enter the amount to be charged on the first payment method, either as a dollar amount or percentage. Use the toggle to switch between the two options
4. Choose the payment method to be used for the first transaction
5. If the full remaining balance should be charged, select Charge full amount. If the charge should be split again, select Split payment
6. Select the payment method for the second transaction and complete the checkout
