We are so excited to be releasing features that let you easily add employees and build a GlossGenius Team! 🎊 We've had many requests from our business owners for these features and have worked hard to create features that build on the GlossGenius experience our members love. 💜 We want to share with you answers to a few commonly asked questions.
What does it mean to have a GlossGenius Team?
With our new features, you can now add team members to your GlossGenius account ("Settings" > "Invite Team Member"). Adding a team member is super customizable so they can have access to as much or as little information as you'd like! We do have a few preset roles including Assistant, Provider, Manager, to get you started quickly as well! You are welcome to pick a preset, customize a preset, or create your very own role!
These new features are all included in your monthly subscription! There is no extra cost to add as many employees as you need! Currently at $24/mo your GlossGenius subscription includes access to all features, as well as the low payment processing rate of 2.6% (flat & simple -- no other fees). The monthly price is an awesome value (around 25% - 50% less) compared to the costs that stack up for the same functionality and can save you so much time running your business!
What's the cost of adding a team member to a GlossGenius account?
You can add as MANY team members as you'd like for no additional cost! It's $24/mo for the subscription and that includes access to all features, as well as the low payment processing rate of 2.6% (flat & simple -- no other fees). The GlossGenius Team account owner will link their card for the subscription payment!
What if I'm not ready to add team members yet, or don't want to add team members?
You can continue to use GlossGenius as usual! You'll see a new option in settings to "Invite Team Member", ready for you if you want to add team members in the future.
What can I expect from the new Team features?
You'll continue to have the features that business owners love: integrated payment processing (for no extra charge), low card processing rates ~2.6%, and text message marketing. Along with all the new Team features that'll help you build your business and stand out from the rest:
Easily manage multiple calendars: Add team members and manage your calendars from combined calendars in a few clicks! You can use our sleek filtering options to view your schedule, other team members, or your whole salon (depending on your permissions).
Super customizable permissions: Seamlessly add employees and partners to your GlossGenius account. Get started quickly with our preset role options or customize permissions in detail to share just the right amount of information with your entire team.
Beautiful team page and booking: Add team member photos, bio, and more for your clients to learn about your team! Clients can easily select a team member and book a service. You can see an example here: 7salon.glossgenius.com/team
- Detailed reporting across the team: Have all your information at your fingertips with reporting available across your full team!
What types of businesses will GlossGenius Teams work best for?
GlossGenius Teams works for a variety of different types of businesses. Because it's super customizable you can adjust the permissions to provide the level of access you'd like. Some of our business owners use GlossGenius teams to add business coaches, accountants, marketers, or other partners to their accounts as well. Other business owners add their employees or service-provider partners.
If you'd like to add a second location OR would need to add a team member with a different bank account to receive payouts, then your best option is to create a separate GlossGenius account instead of adding them as a team member.
If you're happy with all checkouts being paid out to the account-owners bank account (see 'How will Compensation Work' for more details) and do not need another location, GlossGenius teams is the perfect fit for you.

I'm an existing GlossGenius member, how does adding a team member impact me?
If you are the owner of the GlossGenius team account, all your account information will remain the same! You will just see a new specific team settings section.
As the main account holder, you will have access to the GlossGenius Subscription and Bank Account settings. All checkouts (including team members) completed on your account and in team member accounts will be paid out to your linked bank account.
When you add a team member they get an email invite to start a fresh new team member account. Their account is connected to yours so you can see how they're doing in your reports and their appointments in your shared calendar!
I'm an existing GlossGenius member, how do I add a team member who also has a GlossGenius account?
Wonderful! As a GlossGenius member, you’ll be able to add as many team members as you’d like for the SAME simple subscription price of $24/month. This means that you can add team members as you'd like for no additional cost! The monthly price is an awesome value (around 50%-75% less) compared to the costs that stack up for other team accounts.
Team members that already have a GlossGenius account will be starting FRESH on your new joint account. This means that their appointments, transactions, and other data will remain on their original individual account. That said, we have some great tips on how to manage this transition!
I am brand new to GlossGenius, how does creating a Team work?
Choose an account owner: The first step is to decide who will be the account owner. The owner of your GlossGenius team account will link their bank account to receive payment for all checkouts, and their card for the subscription, it's important to decide who that person in your business will be.

Add your Team Members: Next, you'll want to go ahead and invite your team members to join your account by visiting "Settings" > "Invite Team Member"
Request our WhiteGlove Service: You'll be able to request this within the app or reach out to us via text at 888-979-7864. We can transfer over your clients, services, retails, and future appointment data from another app, website, contact list, or even a paper appointment book.
Set up your Account: Finally, you'll want to continue the setup of your account by linking your bank account for payment processing (your checkouts + your team members' are paid out here!), choosing your business hours, and customizing your gorgeous booking site!
How will compensation or payroll for team members work?
Many of our business owners download Sales reports from GlossGenius and then use a third party like Gusto (or any other provider) to send payroll. Other than that, there is not a built-in payroll feature. Currently, all card checkouts processed on the team account will be paid out to the account owner's linked bank account.
Can we add a second location to the Team version?
Your best option is to create a NEW GlossGenius account for the other location. There isn't currently a way to add another address to a Team account. To create that second account you'll want to go to www.glossgenius.com and click the Sign-Up link in the top corner.
Keep in mind you will need a unique phone and email. If you'd like to use the same phone and email as your original account, please reach out to our Support Team and we can assist you with this process!

What will a team member see in their account when I add them?
That's totally up to you! Adding a team member is super customizable so they can have access to as much or as little information as you'd like! What devices can I use with GlossGenius Teams?
Currently, you can access your calendar and manage appointments from any computer web browser by logging in here: https://glossgenius.com/login.
Other functions such as checkouts, editing account settings, services, website, products, etc. will still take place in the GlossGenius mobile app, as we believe wholeheartedly in the power and future of mobile. 😊👍 We support all iOS and Android mobile devices including phones and tablets! Many of our business owners do use a tablet stand setup for checkout and viewing team calendars on a larger screen!
What about tax season? How will my tax reporting work with the GlossGenius team features?
One of the perks of our Team features is that you can easily add your accountant or tax professional directly to your GlossGenius account with limited access only to your reporting. That way, they can self-serve all the information needed to make tax season a breeze!
In addition to that, we do create a form 1099-K 'Payment Card and Third Party Network Transactions' early in the year for your taxes. You can read more about the 1099-k here. The 1099-K will include all of the card transactions processed on your team account and will be reported under the TIN provided. There is no way of splitting 1099-k for different team members on one account. Typically depending on whether your team members are employees or independent contractors you'll take a different approach with reporting their earnings. Your accountant or tax professional will be able to help you with how to report income earned by independent contractors or employees on your team account.
