What devices can I use a GlossGenius card reader with?

Your GlossGenius card reader will work with most Android and Apple mobile devices including phones and tablets! Note that if you are using an Apple device, you must be to update your devices to iOS 15 (released 2022) or newer. Because of this, it's possible that some older Apple devices such as iPhone 5s, the original iPad Air, etc., may not be compatible. 

Can I use the GlossGenius card reader with other apps? 

Your GlossGenius card reader will only connect with the  GlossGenius app. We want you and your clients to have the best experience, so we’ve customized our reader to work seamlessly with the app. 

Can I sign up for GlossGenius without a card reader? 

Yes! GlossGenius gives you the amazing ability to securely scan a client’s cards with your phone camera. There isn’t an actual photo taken, it simply enters the card details, and then the data is encrypted. You'll still be able to enjoy our lowest-processing rate of 2.6% with NO additional fees and same-business-day payouts.

Can I use Square, or another card reader, with GlossGenius?

Yes, you can use your Square card reader, just ‘Mark Appointment As Paid” to remove appointments from your queue. You’ll then want to reference your Square reports for financials.

Can I use my card reader while my device is connected to other Bluetooth devices? 

Yes! Your Bluetooth can be connected to other non-card-reader devices. Your card reader will stay connected as long as it is near your phone or iPad. We recommend connecting to no more than three other devices, to ensure your card reader has a strong connection.
