Commission Earnings Report

Whether you have a small team, or managing a large salon, GlossGenius has made it easy for you to reward your employees for their hard work and dedication. The Manage Commissions setting allows account owners and selected team members to set commission percentages for both services and products. In this article, we'll walk you through the steps to set up and manage commission percentages for your business.

Setting up Commissions 

To set up commission percentages for your team members, follow these simple steps:

1. Tap into Settings and select Manage Commissions.
2. Select whether you want to set up commission percentages for Services, Products, or both.
3. Toggle on the Enable Commission option.

Once the Enable Commission setting is toggled on, you will have the option to set the commission level as a flat rate across your team, or individually set the commission level per team member. 

To set a flat rate across your team, tap into the Flat Rate (Everyone) option, set the commission rate percentage, and be sure to tap Save. 

To set the commission level per team member, tap into the Flat Rate (By Team Member) option. Select a team member, set the commission rate percentage, and be sure to tap Save. 

Note: Changes to commission rates will be reflected in commission reports starting the next day at 12:00AM.

Team Access

As an account owner, you will automatically have access to this feature. You can also grant permission to your team members as well by following these steps:

1. Tap into Settings and select Manage Team and Permissions.
2. Select the team member's profile whose permissions you want to change.
3. Tap on "Change Role & Permissions."
4. Choose "Manage Commission Rates" and select either No Access, View Access Only, or View and Edit Access for the team member.
5. Click Save to update the team member's permissions.

Commission Earnings Report 

Once the commission percentages are set up, you can use our Commission Earnings Report to assist with paying your team members. This report will show you how much each team member has earned in commissions for the period you've selected, based on the commission percentages you've set up.

If you would like any of your team members to view and pull this report, follow these steps:

1. Tap into Settings and select Manage Team and Permissions.
2. Select the team member's profile whose permissions you want to change.
3. Tap on Change Role & Permissions.
4. Choose View Reports and select Everyone's.
5. Click Save to update the team member's permissions.

Note: Changes to the commission percentages will not reflect in this report until the following business day. For example, if the service commission was originally set to 30%, and then later changed to 35%, you will need to wait one business day until the report will reflect the calculations based on the new percentage.

That being said, the rates will be tracked historically! So if you update the rate annually, you may go back to previous years to review the report with the rate that was previously set for that time period!
