To help protect you from no-shows and cancellations, we had a couple of options. We could require a big deposit, but many of our experienced beauty professionals have noted will reduce bookings since their clients don't want that money tied up, and we want to help you grow your business!
So instead, we've created the perfect compromise: Clients (by default) are required to secure their appointment with a valid credit card, which can be used to charge for a no-show or cancellation without putting a long hold on their payment in advance. This works out well for both clients and stylists!
However, some folks are working with friends and family and don't want to require a card to be placed on file. This means they can't collect no-show fees, so be sure to consider this when changing this option! In this case, you'd open the app, go to Settings, then Business Info, then Booking & Payment. Once there, tap "Require Card."
Here, you can keep this set to "Always," change it to "Never," or just require it for new users who've never booked you with GlossGenius! This third option is great for stylists with a strong repeat client list who are also bringing on new clients.
