Online booking rules give flexibility and customization to better help you control online booking for your clients!
To get started, open your GlossGenius app and go to "Settings" > “Booking Controls & Notifications” > “Online Booking Settings.” If you don't see this option under My business, you may not have the "Manage booking & payment details" permissions enabled, please reach out to an Admin on your account to have that adjusted.
How to allow online booking
You'll have the option to allow everyone to book online, only existing clients, or nobody!
If the client has a client profile created within GlossGenius Clients, then they are considered existing.
How to require Credit Cards for online booking
Go to “Settings” > “Booking Controls & Notifications” > “Online Booking Settings” > and the "Card Requirements" section. Tap “Require Card” to set your rules for appointment booking online. You can require a credit card from all clients who book you online, from only new clients, or you can choose to never require one.

How to auto-approve appointments
Go to “Settings” > “Booking Controls & Notifications” > “Online Booking Settings” > Under Booking Controls you'll see Auto-Approve Appointments. You have the option to Auto-Approve all appointments, auto approve existing clients only or never auto-approve appointments. If a client has at least one appointment from the past, pending, upcoming, or canceled then they are considered existing.
If you select to auto approve existing clients only or never auto-approve appointments, then clients will be allowed to book online. However, you will need to approve or deny the appointment request within 48 hours. Note: the appointment expires after 48 hours and is removed from the calendar. The client will receive a message letting them know that their request expired.
Booking Increments
Go to “Settings” > “Booking Controls & Notifications” > “Online Booking Settings” > “Booking Controls” >"Booking Increments" section. Tap on "Booking Increments," and you can select increments that are 10 minutes, 15, 20, 30, 45 minutes, or 1 hour apart!
Setting up how far in advance clients can book an appointment
Go to “Settings” > “Booking Controls & Notifications” > “Online Booking Settings” > “Booking Controls” > "Booking Window" section. Tap in the "Booking Window”, and put in how many hours advance notice clients must give you before booking. For example, if you put in 24 hours, clients will not see any availability for the next day as they will need to give you more than one day's notice.
Don't want clients booking with you months in advance?
Go to “Settings” > “Booking Controls & Notifications” > “Online Booking Settings” > “Booking Controls” > "Advance Booking Window" section. Toggle the switch right on "Restrict Advanced Booking" so that it is pink, then put in a booking limit. For instance, if you don't want clients booking you for next year, put in a limit of 12 months!
Want to manage how your clients can cancel their appointments?
Go to “Settings” > “Booking Controls & Notifications” > “Online Booking Settings” > “Booking Controls” > "Online Cancellations" section. Toggle the switch right on “Allow Online Cancellation” to let your clients cancel online. Toggle the switch left to prevent clients from canceling online.
What if you want to offer online cancellation but within a day of the appointment? Then, simply swipe right on “Allow Online Cancellation” and set a 24-hour cancellation window. Clients trying to cancel within 24 hours of the appointment will be prompted to contact you directly. Clients canceling more than 24 hours away from the appointment will be able to cancel online.
With these controls, nothing will stand in the way of offering your clients an easy and beautiful online booking experience that works for your business!
